Starting in 2008 our club has been invited to participate in this unique program every spring. This three day, two night workshop is held on a sedge island in the Marine Conservation Zone in the Barnegat Bay, a fifteen minute pontoon boat ride from Island Beach State Park. We stay in a renovated duck hunting lodge and live in a conservation ethic. Fresh water is limited, and so is electricity.
Part of the workshop includes marsh walks, birding, kayaking tours, fishing, crabbing, and clamming.
This trip is always a great experience filled with lots of fishing, good food, great friends and a wonderful break from the daily grind.
